AMD A10-6800K APU Overclocked Past 8Ghz using LN2

AMD A10-6800K is the latest flagship APU that has been released and now all the hardcore overclockers are taking their shots at it and has now been pushed past 8 Ghz on LN2 by the user “the Stilt”. This is a pretty impressive overclock with an APU on a FM2 socket board. The motherboard used was an ASUS F2A85-V Pro.

According to the CPU-Z screenshot the APU was overclocked to 63 X 126.99MHz multiplier and bus speed respectively. Four GBs of DDR 3 ram was used and LN2 to keep the beast cooled off. Even though CPU-Z reports that the core voltage is 2.008 based on the second screenshot below you can see the CPU-Z above shows 1.992V which is the correct voltage. Here is the temperatures that were reached using the LN2 cooling solution. Load temperature -186C, idle temperature at -186C, and an ambient temperature of 25C according to HWBot.

Another thing also is that all cores were enabled and not dropped down to only one core for temperature and easier time overclocking. Now I know myself and Dorkstar found this to me awesome. Due to the AMD Test Drive program that has been launched we both will be getting an A10-6800k rig to mess around with and see what we can take it to. You can read about what the AMD Test Drive program is here and the specs of the rigs we will be receiving here. Overall like I said this is very good news to us to see what kind of overclocking we can do. We will not be using LN2 but we plan on testing the AMD A10-6800K using both air and liquid cooling setups.
