OCZ Launching Next Gen Vertex 450 SSD

OCZ is launching the Next Generation Solid State Drive, the Vortex 450 SSD

OCZ is launching their new Vertex 450 SSD drive to take over from the Vertex 4 series of solid state drives. OCZ in the past year or so has become synonymous with solid state drive performance and reliability with Corsair and Samsung. They have pushed the boundaries of the performance/price ratio. The new Vertex 450 series will be upgrading from a 25nm process to 20nm, will feature OCZ’s in house Indilinx Barefoot 3 M10 Series controller, and be SATA 3 compliant.

OCZ Vertex 450 SSD

Most people will remember the early SSDs from OCZ such as the vortex and early vertex series had issues of reliability that plagued them. OCZ fixed those issues and better performance with the Vertex 4 SSD and the Vertex 450 SSD looks to be a new and smaller model from the Vertex 4 SSD. Here is the pricing from Amazon which isn’t currently available but expect for them to be soon.

Overall it looks like OCZ’s Vertex 450 SSD is going to be another solid addition to their lineup. According to Amazon pricing the Vortex 450 SSD should be competitive with all other brands and lineups of solid state drives with the same performance and specifications.
