The Phanteks PH-TC12DX is the 120MM brother to the much larger PH-TC14PE. While not quite as massive, this CPU cooler still cools like the best and comes with color matched fans and heat sink. This cooler comes in around $50 making it a rather good cheaper alternative to a closed loop system or a more expensive air cooler. Let’s take a look at the Phanteks PH-TC12DX and how we tested it before we dive into thermal benchmarks.

Like our previous cooler test, we’ll be using the same socket FM2 (A10-6800k) AMD Test drive computer for this benchmark. However, the previous MSI motherboard that was in the rig had issues and has since been replaced with a much better quality Gigabyte F2A85X-UP4 board.

Unlike the Phanteks PH-TC14PE, the Phanteks PH-TC12DX does not cover your RAM slots. Additionally the color of the black heat sink and fans matched with this setup. On the PH-TC14PE we had the orange configuration which didn’t as well.

The Phanteks PH-TC12DX comes with an assortment of color options for you to choose from. You’ll be sent both a matching heat-sink with 2 120MM fans. The PH-TC12DX is available in white, blue, red, and black.
