SSD Buyers Guide

Heard of SSDs? Been looking to buy one but haven’t figured out what is the best overall or the best for the price? Well we are going to go over all the major topics when it comes choosing the right SSD for you in the ModCrash SSD Buyers Guide!

What is an SSD?

A SSD or Solid State Drive is a type of data storage.  SSDs have no mechanical moving part for better reliability against physical shock, quieter because they have no moving parts, ability to access data stored more quickly than their HDD (Hard Disk Drive) counterparts, and use NAND-based flash memory instead of traditional spinning disks or platters.

Why Would you Want an SSD?

SSDs simply are far superior in speed than HDD. They can speed up boot times, open programs faster, transfer data faster. While they are not recommended for large files storage (such as music or movies) they are recommended for just about everything else from your games to programs and everything in between.
