Hey guys, here is a video on cable management that I found to be very useful.
Cable Management Essentials:
Gardner Bender mounting bases
These are great for additional routing options. With Gardner Bender mounting bases, you can individualy direct your cables to go where you need them to, not where the case manufacturers tell you to. These paired with zip ties are a cable management necessity.
Zip Ties
Get a variety pack. This way you have all sizes you need covered. Use the zip ties to secure loose cables and tighten down bunched cables to help keep the side as flat as possible. Zip ties are cheap, and can take your cable management a long way.
Cases
Some cases provide better cable management than others. Be sure when choosing your case, you take that into account. The Cooler Master HAF 922 – 932 – 932 Advanced – HAF Xseries and Corsair 400 – 600 – 800 series also have great cable management. Some cases offer several options for cable management but may have a shallow area between the MB tray and side panel. The Cooler Master HAF 912 and NZXT Switch 810 are two that fall in that category among others fall in that category. Although they are great cases, the only downfall in cable management spacing between the tray and sidepanel. If you have a non modular PSU, you may get bulging from your cables in the sidepanel.
My opinion if you want a great case for cable management, go with the CoolerMaster HAF 932 Advanced / HAF X, or the Corsair 800D.
I needed to watch this, lol. Now I just need to get me a damn modular power supply. Believe it or not, I developed the modular power supply before they existed, unfortunately I never got around to actually building one. Story of every inventor eh?
Oooo Linus, you are dam great Guy 🙂 🙂
Thnx for the Amazing Tips & Quick Guide…
I’m so glad I bought a modular PSU for my new build.
