Final Thoughts

For now and the near future the AMD Radeon HD 7990 is a heck of a card to own. Even though this is technically a generation behind the new “R” series GPUs from AMD, it still holds its own against the competition. When AMD finally released their official version of this card most everyone knew it was going to be beastly and I wasn’t at all disappointed. Paired with the Intel i7-4770k you can see that even some of the most intensive test didn’t make this card sweat much at all. When I got this card it was $1,000 to own and it has maintained most of its value due to rarity and cryptocurrencies driving up the market. The Radon HD 7990 is a great card to have if you can find a good deal but I would caution that if you have the cash to throw down on a HD 7990 then I would go with an Radeon R9 290X instead for the simple fact it’s a newer generation. The only thing I would mention is that when you get the fans turned up past 60% they start being noisy but as you can see from my temp chart I never had this issue. Just to see how loud it would be I manually turned the fans up. If your house is kept at hotter ambient temperatures then you might start hearing the fans turn when you start to fully utilize this GPU.

Having said that I love my AMD Radeon HD 7990!
