With Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag set to release later this year a video has surfaced from Ubisoft on the Assassins Creed Youtube channel with 13 minutes of gameplay of said game narrated by Assassins Creed IV Black Flag Game director Ahsraf Ismail.
The video shows the main character, Captain Edward Kenway, doing various things such as taking on a an assassination contract, chasing down a target while at sea, going on a hunt for treasure, and ordering his pirate crew to sing a shanty song. The video takes us though the huge open world that the Assassins Creed franchise has become synonymous with. From walking around in a town, to boarding and being on your ship, and though Mayan temples. Assassins Creed IV Black Flag has a lot of space to roam around. While I do love open worlds that don’t follow a linear path, if done in correctly it can kill a game. I loved the first Farcry but when Farcry 2 came out and while it looked beautiful and the open world was awesome it became very boring to me at least with the bad story line and repetitiveness. Assassins Creed IV Black Flag doesn’t look like it will have this problem that and not having to wait on a loading screen to be able to board your ship will be a god send especially for people playing with a Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.
Assassins Creed IV Black Flag is going to be released on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on October 29th, 2013. The game will also launch on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 when the consoles launch.
