Battlefield 4 Release Date Leaked
EB Games, a retailer based out of Australia, has possibly leaked the Battlefield 4 release date. While the Battlefield 4 release date is most likely a tad bit sooner, (rumors suggest the 29th of October) the poster below shows a release date of 31 October in Australia. While the Battlefield 4 release date is shown on this promotional poster, there’s also a few other things we can take away from this.
Battlefield 4 Features
Armchair General
By looking at the image of the poster above we can learn a few things other than the Battlefield 4 release date. For starters, it appears that Battlefield is moving back to the commander seat, or as they call it, “Armchair General”. We’ve seen this before in previous Battlefield games, where a single player within the fight can control and guide the battlefield using a set of abilities unavailable to any other player in the game. This makes me wonder, since EA has come out and officially stated that this game will include Amphibious warfare, does this mean we’ll be able to control some sort of ship? Will we see Battlefield 4 being much like Battlefield 2142? Where a player controls a naval ship of some sort instead of a Titan? It’s a possibility, but at this time EA is keeping type lipped about it.
Battlelog 2.0
With a new game comes a new battlelog. According to the poster details, the new battlelog will keep even more statistical data than the last. The emphasize the ability to track “every shot, every opponent, and every detail of your online battlefield career.” While I suppose that’s appealing to a lot of people, I’ll just be happy if it works better than the current version.
Premium Changes
This one sort of sticks out to me. With the current premium system, players are only awarded with skins, sever priority, and a few extra achievements. It appears with Battlefield 4, players will be awarded with unique weapons and “more”. I’m not incredibly fond of it, seeing that players without the extra funds to by premium will be left standing naked in the cold unlike the players today. The poster also suggest that there will be expansions that are also solely available to those who purchase premium. This schemes seems to force players into buying premium rather than leaving it as an option.
Overall, I’m happy to see there is a new Battlefield 4 coming out, and I’m glad to know the Battlefield 4 release date is sometime in late October. However, I’m disappointed that EA is still up to their old tricks of squeezing every penny out of their customer base. I’m even more shocked that I’m planning to buy it.

It’s more or less what I expected for the release date.
I am very excited about the amphibious warfare, while I am a bit skeptical about the general. I liked it in Battlefield 2, but now I am used to play without it and I am afraid that a good general could become too much of an important factor in the game, or viceversa that a team could lose just because its general isn’t doing his job very well
I have to agree with ya. I’m really excited about it just for the fact what DICE has said about the engine. The 17 min video looked great and the amphibious warfare could be awesome or horrible. Guess we will know here in a few months.
