Call of Duty Ghosts Official Release Date and Teaser Trailer

Call of Duty Ghosts Official Release Date and Teaser Trailer

As I mentioned yesterday in our Call of Duty Ghosts rumor article, Call of Duty Ghosts was officially announced today.  With that, the Call of Duty YouTube channel released a teaser trailer portraying the different types of warriors throughout time who dawned masks to protect themselves and protect others.  While the video doesn’t tell us a lot about the actual game, it does tell us to wait until May 21st, to see the game revealed.  The game will be revealed along side the newest Xbox console during an Xbox event.

Looking Deeper

If you follow the pre-order link at the end of the YouTube video for Call of Duty Ghosts, you will find a small blurb on their page describing the game.  It says:

The franchise that has defined a generation of gaming is set to raise the bar once again with the all-new Call of Duty®: Ghosts. Published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that created the original Call of Duty and the critically-acclaimed Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® series, Call of Duty: Ghosts ushers in the next generation of the franchise, delivering a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast, all powered by a new next-generation Call of Duty engine.

So now we can confirm that Call of Duty Ghosts will in fact be on an entirely new engine.  Now whether that is another upgrade from the previous IW Engine or a completely different engine, we still don’t know.

Also, like all other Call of Duty games, Call of Duty Ghosts will be released across PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.  At least that’s what the artwork says so far.  Given that the game is being released along side the next generation Xbox Console, it wouldn’t surprise me if it also releases on the newer consoles.

  1. I’m tired of all this rehashing by Activision.. the rumors better be true about it using a new engine and stuff, I’m tired of seeing the Quake 3 engine over and over again! (IW engine is based on the Quake engine.)
