Cooler Master Storm QuickFire XT Introduced
Cooler Master Storm Quickfire XT was announced just this week. The CM Storm Quickfire XT keeps the simple look, while providing you with Cherry MX Red, Blue, Brown, and Green keys. Currently only the MX Blues and MX Red models are for sale. The Cooler Master Storm Quick XT with MX Blues comes in at $89.99, while the Cherry MX Red model comes in at $99.99.
Some mechanical keyboards don’t have the option of 4 different mechanical keys, and hardly anybody has the option for Cherry MX Greens. While I’ve never personally used the greens, it’s definitely on my to-do list.
The Cooler Master Storm Quickfire XT features laser marked keycaps, a non-glossy matte finish, N Key rollover while connected via PS/2, embedded steel plate for durability, and guarantees 50 million+ keystrokes. As an added bonus, the Cooler Master Storm Quickfire XT comes with an extra set of keycaps, as well as a key-puller to make your life that much easier. The keyboard also includes multimedia function via the F keys, and allows you to disable the windows key on both sides by using a key combination.
If you’re in the market for a full size mechanical keyboard the Cooler Master Storm Quickfire XT may be the answer. With a starting price of $89.99, this is a good investment for someone looking to take the plunge into mechanical keyboards. Keep in mind it is lacking some functionality that similar mechanical keyboards come with. For example, this keyboard doesn’t feature macro buttons, nor does it have a 3.5MM audio jacks, or USB ports to power other devices.
If simplicity if your thing, and lack of 3.5mm ports or USB ports isn’t an issue, this keyboard could be your answer. Definitely something I’d feel comfortable using in a professional setting, and during a gaming session.
The CM Storm Quickfire XT is currently available at the CM Storm Store or at amazon.
