Corsair Released List of Haswell Compatible Power Supplies
Earlier we wrote an article about how because of Intel Haswell’s new C States, specifically the C6 and C7 state, that older or more budget power supplies (PSUs) would not be able to use these states due to the super low power requirements to use them. Intel Haswell’s C6 and C7 states lowers the idle power consumption down to 0.05 amps from 0.5 amps with Sandy and Ivy Bridge. You can read about it here. Now companies have been scrambling to get out a list of compatible power supplies since when listing specifications on them they do not tell us what the lowest amps they can operate at without triggering under volt protection. Of all the big name power supply manufactures Enermax has the first to release a list and with Haswell about to be launched, Corsair has given us an extensive list on which ones are certified and which ones are not.
Here is Corsair’s list of compatible power supplies:

Now as you can see as you scroll down the list that not every PSU is compatible but Corsair is working on validating if it is or not. As I expected all the high end PSUs from Corsair are compatible but some of the lower ones while it states that it is likely they do not know for sure. I’m sure this list will change in the next few weeks to make sure it can handle the C6 and C7 state of Haswell, but as I wrote in previous articles is Intel has instructed motherboard manufactures to have in their BIOS the ability to turn these off. So if for some reason your power supply is not compatible, you will not have to buy a new one to take advantage of Haswell. You will just not be able to run it as super low power consumption.

Good, I won’t have any problems 🙂
Crossing my fingers and hoping that the cx-430 is compatible…
