Conclusion and Final Thoughts

Overall if you aren’t planning on doing some over the top overclocking or wanting to run four Titans in quad SLI then the Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W PSU is a versatile and well made power supply. Since I got my first modular power supply a couple of years ago I just can’t go back and like I started earlier for the price I think this one should have been at least semi-modular. I have gotten away almost completely with not using 4 pin molex connectors and if I am not using them actively than I don’t want them attached but this is a small complaint since it does not affect how the power supply operates. They cable are sleeved so while it’s not modular it does make it easy to keep the cables from tangling and have proper cable management. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get a good PSU to last for more than a few years and to help keep power cost down by having a high efficient PSU.

Pros:

  • 80PLUS Gold
  • Sleeved cables
  • SLI and CrossfireX Certified
  • Very long 24 pin power cable

Cons:

  • Non modular
