Intel Announces Arctic Sound Event In December

Arctic Sound is Intel's next answer for discrete graphics in 2020

Intel announced an event on Arctic Sound. This is the first discrete graphics card from the company. This means that consumers will have more choices for their graphics card. With having more choices for graphics cards hopefully means better pricing too.

What the Arctic Sound event will cover

Raja Koduri will be talking about the graphics card with other developers at the event. First of all, If you don’t know who Raja Koduri is, he’s the head of the graphics card division at Intel after previously running the graphics division at AMD. Because we’re still in the early phases of Arctic Sound, full details on the event are still foggy at this time. Intel hasn’t released much about Arctic Sound or the event.  Having an event this soon isn’t common practice with graphics card companies, especially since the card won’t be released until some time in 2020, but could also mean big plans from Intel with these cards.

Arctic Sound could impact the video card market

Intel deciding to get into the graphics card business could be a game changer for PC enthusiasts and gamers worldwide. Also, Intel wants to bring something unique to the table in the world graphics and with Mr. Koduri on board, this could very much be a reality.

Another impact we could see from Intel entering the video card market is inventory. PC enthusiasts and gamers have seen first hand the struggles of getting graphics cards these past few months thanks to the cryptocurrency boom. As a result, inventory was slim and prices went up. Having Intel in the video card marketplace could definitely help prevent this from happening again.
