Intel Haswell Motherboards and CPU Roundup

Now that Intel Haswell Motherboards and CPUs are officially released, we’re going to see exactly what’s out there.  We all know what Intel Haswell CPUs are available out there, so we’ll begin by looking at what Intel Haswell motherboards are available and what they provide.

Intel Haswell Motherboards

Available Intel Haswell Motherboards

Gigabyte G1.Sniper 5

First off is the Gigabyte G1.Sniper 5.  With a price tag around $400 this is also one of the most expensive motherboards out there.  If you’re the type of person who needs 4 way SLI, 10x Sata 6Gb ports, and a quality board for overclocking, then the G1.Sniper 5 is definitely for you.  This board also comes with the onboard Bigfoot G1 Killer NIC giving you the lowest pings possible.

While this Intel Haswell Motherboard is definitely one of the better socket 1150 motherboards out there, it comes with a steep price.  If you have the money, this board is likely a must buy.  Keep in mind this is Gigabytes first real UEFI BIOS, while I haven’t heard anything negative about yet, it really hasn’t been put to test yet.

ASUS Sabertooth Z87

Coming in around $250, the ASUS Sabertooth Z87 is another Intel Haswell motherboard ready to give you solid performance.  This board comes with the unique TUF Thermal Armor, and the notoriously good ASUS UEFI Bios.

MSI MPOWER Max LGA 1150 Intel Z87 Motherboard

MSI’s Flagship Intel Haswell Motherboard is the MPOWER Max.  Coming in around $260 this one is still a little on the high end, however if there are too many features you can check out the MPOWER.  The MPOWER is nearly the same motherboard as the MPOWER Max, however the MPOWER only has a 16 digital power phase, while the MPOWER Max has a 20 digital power phase.

Other Intel Haswell Motherboards

While there are different types of user out there, the following boards aren’t what we call “ModCrash Standard”.  It’s not that we’re elitist, we just demand the most powerful boards with the highest overclocking capabilities.  Sometimes however, we’ve been known to buy cheaper motherboards in order to get power gains out of new CPUs, just like the Intel Haswell.  Below are motherboards that may not necessarily be lacking in power, but they just don’t provide the full suite that most overclockers enjoy.
