Nvidia Geforce GTX 780 Launch date Confirmed with GTX 770

We at Modcrash love our graphics cards and the only thing we love more is better graphics cards and we and the rest of the PC gaming community finally are getting confirmed news of the launch dates for the Geforce flagship card, the GTX 780. Rumors have been that they will launch in May of this year but hadn’t seen anything. Well now we have word that Nvidia will launch both the GTX 780 and the GTX 770 a week apart from each other.

The flagship graphics card, the GTX 780, will launch on May 23rd at 6 A.M PDT (Pacific Daylight Time) just a mere twenty days from the time this article was written. The less powerful GTX 770 will launch a week later on May 30th at 6 A.M. PDT.

Details about the cards are that the GTX 780 will use the same GK110 chip that is used in the GTX Titan while the GTX 770 will have the GK104 425 architecture. We all know the GK110 used in the GTX Titan is one powerful peice of hardware as evidenced by the benchmarks the GTX Titan put over. While the GTX 770 will use the GK104 chip it has been improved upon by Nvidia to offer better performance than the original GK104 chip.

While we hope that the new Geforce 700 series will offer us more power and better efficiency when it comes to power we will just have to wait and see on benchmarks just what these cards will have. I know the at Modcrash we are eagerly awaiting these cards to be released and can’t wait to see what the performance levels we will be able to get out of them. With Haswell looming ahead of us also it will definitely be interesting to see what these cards do with Ivy Bridge chips and their more powerful bother, Haswell.

Anyone out there plan on picking up one of these bad boys when they are released? Let us know!
