According to Major Nelson aka Larry Hryb over at Microsoft, the Xbox One is almost sold out as far as pre-orders go for its launch date. He also said that if you take the same time frame from when pre-orders went on sale for the Xbox 360, the Xbox One is selling out faster. Now this wasn’t a press release or anything but a tweet from Major Nelson’s Twitter account and this is exactly what he said.
Just found out #XboxOne preorders are trending ahead of Xbox 360 preorders during the same time period + sold out at most U.S. retailers.
So the real question is if the Xbox One is almost sold out and the Sony says the PlayStation 4 is having huge pre-order sales then who is going to sell more when they both launch. With the PlayStation 4 having the lower price tag I would think it would probably sell more but I don’t think the Xbox One will be that far behind is terms of total sales. So this will be interesting to find out what the total numbers are when both Sony and Microsoft release them.
