Razer wants you to use their products and they took a step today so you use their services also. Razer Comms is a free all-in-one communications solution for gamers, that offers VoIP, messaging, and group chat. Razer has built an in game overlay to keep you in the game. Razer Comms principal is that you will not have to leave a game or alt tab out of a game to chat or message with fellow gamers. Razer states, “This is how gamers were meant to communicate.”

Razer Comms features:

  • Crystal clear VoIP Comm
  • In-game UI overlay displaying chat and incoming VoIP
  • Channels easily created and managed for real-time discussions
  • Push-to-Talk functionality for fast and effective communication
  • Game Launcher for quick game access at startup
  • Server-based infrastructure prevents exposure of personal IP address

Chat – Razer’s all in one solution:

Razer has a commitment to not use Alt-Tab. Their vision is seamless integration with what game you are playing. Messages will appear in a news ticker format so while you are still playing you can glance and see what people are saying. The overlay for VoIP will let you see who is speaking without being intrusive. Group chats can be setup by game to help easily find out who is playing. They want this all to be in one location so you won’t need to have extra windows opened up.

From what I have seen it looks like Razer wants to be able to let you talk to anyone you have on your friends list no matter what game and talk to them via messaging or voice. Right now Razer Comms is still in “beta” but they are still wanting players feedback who use it.

  1. There are many different software for VOIP communication, but if this one works as good as they say and it is well integrated with in game overlay then it could be a success
