The SilverStone Milo ML05 doesn’t offer the typical line up that we enjoy so much here, but it’s real purpose is to make a good looking HTPC. With that said, this case does offer all the necessities to bring your movies, TV shows, and perhaps a little gaming into the living room. With the rise of more powerful APUs, a build in a HTPC case like this could one day be very feasible for some living room gaming.
With support of 4 2.5″ bays, and the option to place a 3.5″ HDD the Milo ML05 brings plenty of options for storage to the table. However the limitations of a 70MM CPU cooler and a 140MM PSU will keep you from turning the Milo ML05 into a “sleeper”. Buyers looking to a build an HTPC will need to really plan this one out.
The overall design of the SilverStone Milo ML05 does give the typical look a set top box, or a high-end media streaming device. The boxy design allows it to fit into any living room across the world, and doesn’t scream out to be looked at. The materials are nothing too fancy, the front portion of the SilverStone Milo ML05 is made from acrylic and plastic, where the body is made from .08mm steel.
Overall, the SilverStone Milo ML05 HTPC enclosure seems to be an all around HTPC case that can conform to most families. They took away the extras to give you the slimmest HTPC enclosure you could get without rendering it useless.
