Sony PS4 Demand could be Greater than Supply

Sony PS4 Should Sell Out all of their Units at Launch

Since the end of E3, the Sony PS4 has been getting tons of press but unlike the Xbox One it is getting the favorable kind. With the Sony PS4 giving gamers what they want and at a cheaper price than and the Xbox One, considering everything going on the gaming market. Having said that it seems like the Sony PS4 is about to hit the ball out of the park when their console releases at the end of the year. Based on what Sony has seen in the preorder market, they are thinking the PS4 will be sold out before the console even launches.

In an interview with Forbes, PlayStation Chief Jack Tretton had this to say,

“I certainly think, given the technology that we’re offering, given the software lineup, given the price point we have, that we’ll have consumers interested in excess of what we’re able to manufacture”

Even though the Xbox One has changed some of its policies to compete with the Sony PS4 it does seem like Sony will be winning the console war for the moment. The date for launch per Sony is “Holiday 2013”, so we aren’t sure when that will be except it will be sometime at the end of the year. Now it is very feasible that the Sony PS4 will indeed outsell all of its supply before the console even launches. Both consoles should sell well but the question is who is going to sell out and make the most money on day one or beforhand

One thing to look for is even though Microsoft said it will not touch the $499 price point for the Xbox One, I do wonder if maybe they will throw something in maybe digitally to offset the PS4’s $399 price point and get people to buy their console which I still think should be a huge success, but Sony may have more depending on the amount of consoles they plan to have ready at launch.
