Watch Dogs recommended specs require fairly new parts
If you have heard about the Watch Dogs and seen all the demos then most likely you were as impressed as I was with what has been shown so far about the game. Steam recently put out the minimum and recommended specs for Watch Dogs and I was shocked and amazed at the same time about the specs and what Watch Dogs might feel like on PC. Watch Dogs will be a 64 bit only OS game. With Windows ending support for XP so will most games as the Watch Dogs Steam page shows that only 64 bit versions of Windows Vista, 7, and 8 are the only supported OSes. Now lets get on to minimum and recommended requirements.
Watch Dogs Minimum System Requirements |
|
|---|---|
| OS | Windows Vista, 7, or 8 (64 bit Version Only) |
| CPU | Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 @ 2.66Ghz or AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.0Ghz |
| Memory | 6 GB RAM |
| Graphics | DirectX 11 graphics card with 1 GB Video RAM – Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5770 |
| DirectX | Version 11 |
| Hard Drive Space | 25 GB available space |
From the minimum specs it doesn’t look like Watch Dogs is too intensive considering pretty much any quad core CPU and a good GPU from the past 4-5 years will run the game. As PC gamer though I never look at the minimum specs but what does the developer recommend.
Watch Dogs Recommended System Requirements |
|
|---|---|
| OS | Windows Vista, 7, or 8 (64 bit Version Only) |
| CPU | Eight core – Intel Core i7-3770 @3.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 X8 @ 4 GHz |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM |
| Graphics | DirectX 11 graphics card with 2 GB Video RAM – Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 ti or AMD Radeon HD 7850 |
| DirectX | Version 11 |
| Hard Drive Space | 25 GB available space |
Looking at the recommended specifications is what makes this game interesting almost 2 months ahead of its launch. I haven’t seen a game release recommended system specs that are only about one generation behind what is current. I know Battlefield 4’s recommended specs are somewhat close to Watch Dogs but even EA’s official page makes a generic claim of a “quad core” for Intel and a “six core” for AMD. GPU wise Battlefield 4’s recommended specs exceed that of Watch Dogs. As I see it though I can’t wait for the game to come out and see how it preforms. While BF4 has had its issues we all knows its a beautiful game when it runs correctly and I can only expect the same from Watch Dogs.
About Watch Dogs
All it takes is the swipe of a finger. We connect with friends. We buy the latest gadgets and gear. We find out what’s happening in the world. But with that same simple swipe, we cast an increasingly expansive shadow. With each connection, we leave a digital trail that tracks our every move and milestone, our every like and dislike. And it’s not just people. Today, all major cities are networked. Urban infrastructures are monitored and controlled by complex operating systems.
In Watch_Dogs, this system is called the Central Operating System (ctOS) – and it controls almost every piece of the city’s technology and holds key information on all of the city’s residents. You play as Aiden Pearce, a brilliant hacker and former thug, whose criminal past led to a violent family tragedy. Now on the hunt for those who hurt your family, you’ll be able to monitor and hack all who surround you by manipulating everything connected to the city’s network. Access omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control traffic lights and public transportation to stop the enemy…and more.
Use the city of Chicago as your ultimate weapon and exact your own style of revenge.
