If you own Windows 8, then you get a free Upgrade to Windows 8.1
Microsoft has finally answered one of the huge questions about Windows 8, how much will the upgrade be to Windows Blue or 8.1. According to Microsoft’s blog about if you currently own a license to Windows 8 then you will be getting a free upgrade to Windows 8.1 in the Microsoft Store. Also if you haven’t noticed I keep referring to Windows 8.1 which will be the official name of the next release and not Windows Blue.
Just some further updates about Windows 8 is Microsoft claims more than 70,000 apps in the Microsoft Store that is growing every day and include all your favorite apps such as Facebook twitter, eBay, Netflix, Angry birds, and much more others. Also the preview of Windows 8.1 is t go live on June 26th, 2013 for anyone looking forward to this. Hopefully when it does go live they will answer any other questions we users have been wondering about.
Now like anyone else that owns licenses to Windows 8 I have been hesitant to use it on my desktop. I currently have it on my laptop but while they made alot of changes I do like it. I wanted my start button for it so I could use a mouse. I ended up buying a license key to StarDock to give me back my start button and boot directly into the normal desktop and not Metro. If Windows 8.1 can fix both of these issues then I would happily switch my desktop over to Windows 8.1 instead of my currently OS of Windows 7.
So now the real question is who is excited about this if you have been wanting to use Windows 8? I know I will be looking forward to this since I have two licenses to Windows 8 to use.
