Prices cut on the AMD Radeon HD 7990 GPUs
If you have been looking for one of the best cards on the market then you may be in luck if you have been looking for an AMD Radeon HD 7990 dual GPU. According to Newegg the prices have been slashed by up to a couple hundred bucks.
Newegg AMD Radeon HD 7990 Prices
- Sapphire – $789.99
- Gigabyte – $749.99
- XFX – $729.99
- PowerColor – $699.99
Now I can think of at least a couple of reasons that this has happened. One could be that AMD wants to compete with Nvidia at a lower price point. The AMD Radeon HD 7990 was selling very close if not over $1000 earlier this week in the same price point as a GTX Titan or GTX 690. Now with the lower prices it will better compete with the GTX 780 that was released not to long ago. While this could be very valid I would think it has something to do with the 9000 series coming in October. It would make sense for AMD and its partners to try to sell off what they have left of their stock to make space for the new 9000 series. Also if you combine this with the 8 game never settle bundle this effectively becomes a $500-600 graphics card.
